OSAC is happy to announce that it has been awarded a $25,000 grant by the Elinor Patterson Baker Foundation  to support educateHUMANE!  We gratefully acknowledge this support and look forward to reaching even more children across the State with our programs.

OSAC is excited to be partnering with Jane Deming, nationally known for her work in humane education, to create a program specifically for Rhode Island elementary schools. In support of this program “WE CAN FIX IT”,  the ASPCA awarded OSAC a grant of $25,000 in July 2013. Thank you ASPCA!  It’s our belief that, working together, we can educate children about the importance of proper animal care and enhance their relationships with the animals in their lives.

Please click educateHUMANE! for updates about this and other educational programs.

Supporting our commitment to spay/neuter, OSAC received a $67,760 grant from PetSmart Charities® in 2012 to enable residents of Central Falls to get their cats sterilized for free at the RI Community Spay/Neuter Clinic. A joint project with animal control, OSAC’s goal is to sterilize 50 cats per month from Central Falls for the next two years. With free transportation provided by RICSNC, we’re on our way to that goal!

In spring 2014, OSAC received two significant grant awards.  The Humane Society of the United States provided OSAC a grant in recognition of demonstrating what successful collaboration can accomplish.

The RI House of Representatives also awarded OSAC a grant in support of its work on behalf of RI’s animals and to further OSAC’s outreach initiatives.

We gratefully acknowledge both HSUS and the RI House of Representatives for recognizing and supporting our work for the animals of RI!
